Biography

Hülya Şenyurt (b. 1973, Ordu , Turkey ) is a Turkish judoka. She is the first female athlete from Turkey to win a medal in the Olympic Games She was born in Ordu in 1973. She came in second in Europe in the 48 kg weight class in the 1990 championship held in Finland . She became the European youth champion in 1991. She won the bronze medal in the 48 kg weight class in the 1992 Summer Olympic Games held in Barcelona . Thus, Şenyurt became the first medalist in his country's Olympic history. Şenyurt also achieved great success by becoming the youngest athlete to win an Olympic medal
