Home (Beauty and the Beast)

"Home" is a song sung by Belle (originally played by Susan Egan) in the Beauty and the Beast musical. The number is performed by Belle after taking her father's place as the Beast's prisoner. As the Beast orders her to come to dinner, she mourns her situation. Later to her surprise, she becomes acquainted with a couple of her captor's servants, who while not fully cheering the young girl up, offer Belle their support and friendship, granting her a slight comfort. In the 2017 film, this song is not sang, but instead is used as a background theme in several key moments. The song also appears in the Disney+ original series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. In the episode "Yes, And...", Ashlyn (Julia Lester), who plays Belle in the East High's production of Beauty and the Beast, rehearses the song in an attempt to convince Gina (Sofia Wylie) to stay in East High.
