Harry Potter is a fictional character who is the titular protagonist and hero of the eponymous children's book series of the same name, written by J.K. Rowling. He is a British wizard who is most famous for defeating the evil wizard Lord Voldemort at the age of 1. Harry grew up facing trials and tribulations from years of severe mistreatment and neglect from non-magical relatives on his mother's side of the family after his parents' deaths until he was 11 years old, learning of his true heritage that his aunt and uncle had deliberately kept secret from him based on their abuse of him for years and goes to school at Hogwarts, an institution where he faces even more trials and tribulations from many prejudiced wizards and witches have against the non-magical community.
