Hannibal King is a main character in Blade: Trinity (2004). He is a highly skilled vampire hunter like Blade. The character, albeit a different version, also appears in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, in which he first appeared as a supporting character in the title The Tomb of Dracula, issue #25 (Oct. 1974). King was played by Ryan Reynolds in the 2004 film Blade: Trinity. Here, he was a member of a vampire hunting group known as the Nightstalkers, led by Abigail Whistler. Hannibal was a vampire, a slave and lover of Danica Talos, until he was freed and cured by the Nightstalkers. Since that day, he became a central member of the hunters team and started a personal crusade of vendetta against the House of Talos. Currently, he's a member of a vampire hunting group known as the Nightstalkers, led by Abigail Whistler. Hannibal is a highly skilled hunter, who deeply knows the vampires' nature, having been one himself. He's is a good fighter, skilled in hand-to-hand combat as well as in gunfight. Despite being just a human, he's able to match in combat enormous vampires like Jarko Grimwood. He carries a pair of pistols with digital video cameras built into the frame so that he can keep track of vampires that he hunts. Hannibal is also known for his sarcastic humor, snarky banter and quippy one-liners - quite similar to that of Deadpool - , and often uses humor to defuse the tension - or as a deflection/to hide or mask his emotions/fears/insecurities (as a coping mechanism or minimisation). Despite this, he's actually quite intellingent (but more so in a practical type of way) and incredibly street-smart, and also someone who cares deeply about those he's close with, and who is incredibly loyal and protective of his loved ones. He also quite often uses humor in a self-deprecating way, intentionally downplaying or hiding his own true intelligence and/or competency (ie. playing the role of the bumbling "fool"). Sometimes it's in order to get others to underestimate him, other times it's as comedic relief, in an attempt to cheer others up. More often than not it also stems from his own lack of self-worth, negative views about his own self-value, as well as his self-sacrifical and often reckless and over-protective tendencies.
