Hadji Singh is a fictional character first introduced in the Hanna-Barbera science fiction adventure franchise of Jonny Quest. He is an orphaned Indian boy who is the best friend and adoptive brother of the title protagonist and adoptive son of Dr. Benton Quest. Hadji is rarely seen without wearing his bejeweled turban and Jodhpuri and is known to be more cautious than Jonny, especially when going on adventures when talked into them. He is the seventh son of a seventh son and appears to possess mystical powers (which he had inherited from his mother), that of which includes snake-charming, levitation, and hypnotism, which has been evident by his special mantra "Sim, sim, salabim." Hadji is also proficient in judo, which he learned from an American Marine, is a practicing yogi, and has a burning interest in archaeology, anthropology and the paranormal. In season 2 of The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, it is later learned that he is the long-lost heir of Bangalore, a province of India where he was supposed to be executed as a baby by an assassin on the orders of his uncle, Deepak, but the assassin refused and whisked the infant Hadji away from the danger he was in and raised him until his adoption by the Quests. When Hadji learned of his heritage and royal status, he returned to Bangalore to rightfully reclaim the throne and became sultan after the death of his cousin, Vikram. After ascending to the throne as sultan, Hadji made a new law where women were now allowed to rule his family's monarchy, so his mother could stand in for him as sultana in his absence before he eventually returned to live with his adopted family, the Quests after he became acquainted with his royal status.
