On The Furchester Hotel, Gonger initially served a minor role in the first season, banging his gong to alert everyone of "Monster Tea Time," particularly the Tea Time Monsters. In the first season of The Furchester Hotel, Gonger was typically performed by Mak Wilson[1] and occasionally by David Rudman. In the second season, Warrick Brownlow-Pike became the character's primary performer and created the character that we know and see today. In 2017, the character was imported to Sesame Street as the co-star of the season 48 segment "Cookie Monster's Foodie Truck," which pairs Gonger with Cookie Monster to cook orders from kids. His grandmother, who bears a strong family resemblance, appears in one edition of the segment.
