Biography

Fortunato Arena (May 23, 1922 - March 18, 1994) is an Italian actor and stuntman. He was known for his roles in films directed by Mario Bava and Sebastian Urino; including 23 year old Sebastian in Urino (1943), Mark in LeKoir (1958), and John in Meranu (1969). He is also known for playing Todd "Scoops" Ming in WordGirl (1945-1992), Skrawl in Chalkzone (1949-1992) and Maximus in Different Chase (1985). He reprised the role of Maximus in the 1991 and 1996 sequels, and died following an accident 11 days after the filming and editing was completed. He made a film debut as 23 year old Sebastian Urino in biological film Urino (1943). He made a final appearance during his lifetime as Grandpa in Dreamers from the Village Ugory (1994). On March 17, 1994, 11 days after the fliming and editing of Different Chase 3 completed, Arena fell from a horse in Rome, Italy, and sustained a broken pelvis and internal bleeding. He was taken to the hospital. On March 18, Arena died of a heart attack at the age of 71. He made seven posthumously appearances: The Great Castle of Oz (1994), Ledge's Revenge (1994), Black Friday Part III (1995), Different Chase 3 (1996), Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), Prince of Egypt (1998) and Lord of the Jungle (1999).
