Born on November 29, 1966, in Saratov, Evgeny Vitalyevich Mironov is widely regarded as one of Russia's most gifted and versatile actors. A protégé of Oleg Tabakov at the Moscow Art Theatre School, he gained national acclaim in the early 1990s with his award-winning role in Love and further solidified his status in the Oscar-winning Burnt by the Sun (1994). Mironov is renowned for his ability to disappear into complex psychological roles, most notably as Prince Myshkin in the 2003 adaptation of Dostoevsky's The Idiot and as cosmonaut Alexei Leonov in The Age of Pioneers (2017). Since 2006, he has served as the artistic director of the Theatre of Nations in Moscow, where he collaborates with elite international directors and continues to lead the Russian stage.
