First appeared in Tomb of Dracula #13 in 1973 and was created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan. Deacon Frost was a scientist who attempted to become immortal and experimented with vampire blood. In 1929, Deacon Frost feasted on Vanessa Brooks as she gave birth to her son Eric, causing the baby to become a half-human, half-vampire. He is the main antagonist of the 1998 film Blade and sacrified the elders of the House of Erebus to raise the vampire god La Magra.
