Biography
Pre-Fast and Furious
Craig had always been a car guy and owned various cars throughout the 1980s including a Datsun Zs, a V6 1973 Capri, a ’67 Chevelle, a ’78 Fiat Spyder, a ’76 Audi Fox, an ’88 Nissan Pulsar and a 1981 Honda Accord. After getting beaten in a race by a Supra, Craig decided to buy one himself, and after showing it off at shows and winning races, it was spotted by Universal Studios.
Craig was then hired as technical advisor, he hosted multiple car meets where producers of the film would find cars they could use in the film, including Craig's Toyota Supra, Nissan Maxima and Nissan Skyline. The cars were rented from the owners and then copies were made as backups and stunt cars.
After 2 Fast 2 Furious, Craig was replaced with Dennis McCarthy but still was involved in Tokyo Drift.
Craig has a YouTube channel entitled "Craig Lieberman" in which he provides factual videos on the cars of the first two films and videos about the first two films in general.
He also published a book entitled "Crashing Cars" where he talks about his experience working on the movies. The book has mostly negative reviews.
