Pres. Coriolanus Snow is a fictional character and the main antagonist of The Hunger Games book series and its film adaptions and the main protagonist of the prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. He is the tyrannical president of Panem (North America after the apocalypse) and the archenemy of Katniss Everdeen. A native of the Capitol, Snow is mentioned to have been the President of Panem for at least 25 years, and is shown to have absolute, unlimited power. He is in charge of organizing the annual Hunger Games and heading the military responsible for oppressing the districts. Snow is revealed to have been heavily influenced by the nihilistic and misanthropic ideologies of Dr. Volumnia Gaul, the then Head Gamemaker for the 10th annual Hunger Games. He has no qualms about hurting or killing those he perceives as threats to his power, and is mentioned to have used poison on his political opponents.
