Fifteen-year-old Chris Mills isn't too happy with his divorcing parents. In fact, he doesn't want them to split at all, so he hires car repair shop owner -- and former attorney -- Archie Corelli to run interference for him and put a stop to the proceedings. It's a match made in heaven because Chris and Archie both have a deep desire to see the right thing done.

Abraham is a Puerto Rican single parent with two boys. He is becoming very worried about them living in their run down neighborhood when one day he notices that Cubans who escape are lionized and given exceptional benefits. He thinks up a plot to have his sons washed ashore as cuban immigrants who will be adopted by rich anglos.

Professor Samuel Hale Constable (Ray Milland) is a government expert in the field of cybernetics. He and his wheelchair-bound wife Lenore (Gene Tierney) became parents late in life, only to lose their daughter Mary (Pamelyn Ferdin) before she reached adolescence. Now their daughter's spirit seems to be reaching out to her grief-stricken father from beyond the grave, encouraging him to give up the important project on which he's been working. This 20th Century-Fox production premiered on ABC-TV as the "ABC Movie of the Week."
