Asset 87 is the individual Spinosaurus that acted as the main antagonist of Jurassic Park III and a major dinosaur character in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.
He is a male Spinosaurus that was illegally bred on Isla Sorna in 1999 as apart of Project Regenesis, after the illegality of dinosaur cloning as a result of the San Diego incident in 1997. At the age of 2, he stalked and terrorized Alan Grant and the Kirby family during their visit to Isla Sorna.
At some point years after this, the Spinosaurus is moved to the nearby Mantah Corp Island for research purposes, where he is abused and nicknamed Asset 87. In 2016, the Nublar Six managed to stop the illegal operations on the island. Asset 87 presumably remained on the island afterwards, and his whereabouts following the 2018 Dinosaur Outbreak and shut down of Mantah Corp Island remain unknown.
There is frequent dispute over whether or not Asset 87 is actually the Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park III, although the showrunners of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous have confirmed it is intended to be the same individual.
