Ace Cooper is a fictional character and the title protagonist of the 1998 French animated TV series, The Magician. He is a famous and world-renowned stage magician who also secretly fights crime in Electro City alongside his assistant and sidekick, Cosmo all the while wielding his magic and using all of his available stage magician paraphernalia to fight against crime. When Ace was a boy, he was victim of a horrible manipulation and vowed to never allow someone to dupe him again, and has even been led astray as a teenager by Black Jack Malone, Electro City's most nefarious crime boss into working for him, until he vowed to never be fooled again and later quit working for the mobster. He spent many years working hard and meditating to finally gain the understanding of magic he has today all the while working with the Electro City Police Department alongside Lt. Derek Vega. Now, Ace is a darling of the media, a thorn in the side for criminals, and a hero to most everyone.
