Smith is an American actress, singer, and educator based in Chicago, widely recognized for originating the role of Mrs. Puff in the Broadway production of SpongeBob SquarePants (2017) and its subsequent 2019 television special. She holds a Master of Music in Music Theatre from Oklahoma City University and has built a diverse career across stage and screen, with television credits including Blue Bloods, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Orange Is the New Black.
