Story Plot

two plumber brothers from New York City, Mario and Luigi get sucked into a strange surreal alternate fantasy dimension with large mushrooms, dinosaur people, floating blocks, piranha plants and whole sorts of crazy individuals. the two now have to thwart the plans and efforts of the evil King Bowser Koopa and rescue the Princess Peach but ultimately get sucked into a larger plot involving a meteorite shard and dimensions

    Plot wise it would have some Wizard of Oz elements and DNA (though obviously it wouldn't be a dream) with elements like the brothers encountering elements and characters foreshadowing their adventure as well the many characters they'll come across

    Bowser obviously would be mostly prosthetic makeup applied to Tim Curry all the while enemies like the koopas and goombas are mostly puppets and with some like the thwomps for example being stop motion and even Bowser himself turning into a monster done via stop motion
