Spike Witwicky and his girlfriend, Carly, discover the derelict Ark spacecraft just as the Autobots and Decepticons have reactivated. The Cybertronian civil war resumes on Earth, forcing humanity to reckon with the alien invaders. With the Decepticons seeking to suck Earth dry of its energy to fuel their conquest of Cybertron, Optimus Prime and his few remaining troops are forced to utilize what limited resources they have to protect the planet.
