Story Plot

San Diego, 1977: Marco Apollo Molinari is an Italian expatriate and politically committed Republican college student. Disappointed by his everyday life, he starts a career as a wizard with the name of "Mighty Ollopa" ("Apollo" spelled backwards) starting appearing on TV and participating on reality shows. But in the early 2000s, he's accused of tax evasion... Based on the real story of Italian magician Mago Otelma (featured in the pic) and "The King of Polka".

    Mighty Ollopa's bisexual, and friendly divorces from his wife Christie to stay with self-proclaimed vampire Gary. Aja considers herself Mighty Ollopa's rival because she thinks he's a buffoon who makes wizard looks bad, while the Mighty Ollopa is convinced that Aja represents black magic, while he represents the forces of good. The Mighty Ollopa travels to Italy to appear on Mike Bongiorno's program, this is why Bongiorno is in the cast.
