Synopsis

In a small town in the interior of Espírito Santo (Brazil), the presence of Josefel Zanatas, a sinister man who works as a gravedigger in the city cemetery, disturbs the other inhabitants, because the man dresses in black from head to toe, blasphemes against religion and has an extremely unpleasant attitude. Josefel's goal is to have a son, believing that the continuity of his blood will make him immortal, but his wife seems incapable of conceiving a child for him, so he decides to sexually abuse Tereza, the wife of his best friend, who promises to commit suicide so that her soul can drag Josefel to hell with her.

Description of Dr. Rodolfo Rossmann:

He is the city's main doctor and the one who examines the corpses that appear throughout the film, he begins to suspect that Josefel is responsible for the growing wave of brutal deaths that have been occurring in the city, since all the victims were close to him. Upon learning that the doctor suspects him, Josefel goes to his house and murders him, plunging his long nails into his eyes.
