Synopsis

In a small town in the interior of Espírito Santo (Brazil), the presence of Josefel Zanatas, a sinister man who works as a gravedigger in the city cemetery, disturbs the other inhabitants, because the man dresses in black from head to toe, blasphemes against religion and has an extremely unpleasant attitude. Josefel's goal is to have a son, believing that the continuity of his blood will make him immortal, but his wife seems incapable of conceiving a child for him, so he decides to sexually abuse Tereza, the wife of his best friend, who promises to commit suicide so that her soul can drag Josefel to hell with her.

Description of Antônio da Silva:

One of Josefel's few friends in the city and Tereza's fiancé, whom Josefel has been harassing in order for her to bear the perfect child for him, but she refuses him, as Antônio is the only man in her life. After Antônio and Josefel go to see a gypsy woman to ask about Antônio and Tereza's marriage, she predicts that they will not marry and that a great tragedy will befall him. After leaving the gypsy woman's residence and going to Antônio's house, Josefel kills him, thus fulfilling the gypsy woman's prediction, and then sexually abuses Tereza.
