After the death of Peter Parker at the hands of Cletus Kasady, Carnage, New York plunges into immense chaos, with crime increasing absurdly and impunity for criminals, all this while New York City and the rest of the world grieves the loss of Spider-Man. In this scenario, Eddie Brock, now 28, needs to prove that his dark past as Venom is behind him, assuming the responsibility that was once Peter's, becoming the new Spider-Man.
