Synopsis

Matt Bailey has suffered severe trauma that has influenced every decision he's made in life while becoming an ashamed, overwhelmed, and miserable person as a result. The misery eventually gets to the point where Matt lashes out at his mother for not protecting him and leaves in anger. While out a thunderstorm appears, striking lightning on everything in sight, but Matt is unfortunately too angry to care about the mass destruction this storm is causing. Eventually, a red lightning bolt flashes from the clouds and hits Matt, rendering him wholly unconscious and knocking him to the ground. Matt then wakes up in the hospital after being in a very long coma with his mother sitting by him saying she was praying for him to get better the entire time she was there and never left his side. Feeling awful for what he said, Matt makes amends with his mother and takes this incident as a sign that it's time for him to become a better person and stop letting his past control who he chooses to be. During the conversation, they abruptly discover Matt suddenly has superpowers now, such as flight, super-strength, and shooting lightning from his hands. This makes Matt decide to take on the alter-ego of Sparkstorm to pursue his goal of self-improvement.

Description of Stormbringer:

A formidable villain who also gained powers from the same lightning storm that struck Sparkstorm. However, unlike Sparkstorm, Stormbringer uses his powers for malevolent purposes. He can manipulate weather and create devastating storms, using them as weapons to cause chaos and destruction. Sparkstorm and Stormbringer could have a personal rivalry, as they share a similar origin but have chosen different paths, leading to epic battles between them.
