Story Plot

Continuing from the previous parts. It is then revealed that all the problems from the previous installments are caused by the Tendoushuu, a group of cult like individuals whose true aim is to control japan. They were led by one of the bakufu officials and some of their members are related to the bakufu as well. They have influenced many of the actions and lives of most of the characters and were orchestrating a more bigger plan. To make sure that nobody interferes with their goal, they wanted to eliminate Kyō Narukami due to reasons that will be revealed in the series later. They took the first step by sending their best assassin, Yamato Kansuke, a subject of an immortality experiment to take out Narukami. Now, things have gone awry, with Kyō Narukami and the people who are close to him are being threatened by the Tendoushuu, he must finish what he had started and take matters into his own hands as he was the one who got his friends involved in the whole chaos in the first place. With his friends by his side, he is not alone and will keep fighting for as long as it takes, even if it means sacrificing himself for the greater good and facing the consequences of his own actions.

  • For the timeline placement: Episode Zero part 1 and 2 took place at the same time as the ongoing Joui Wars. At this point, this makes both Gintoki and Tadayoshi at the same age range (which means years after Episode Zero, Gintoki is in his late 20s and early 30s while Tadayoshi is in his 30s to early 40s). Josuke was born somewhere before Episode Zero (before Kyō's mom marries Josuke's dad, Josuke was born after Kyō, so that makes him the younger bro while Kyō is the older bro)
  • In part 1, Josuke is said to be still a toddler. But during the few months of timeskip in part 3, Josuke is mentioned to be 7 years old (this means Saya is born a year after part 3). Basically means part 3's one year timeskip took place at 1859, in which the Joui Wars ended and Gintoki and Takasugi go on their separate ways. But the final battle of part 3 took place before that, so a year after that, Josuke is already a pre teen
  • You know what, enough with this confusing timeline BS. The Bakumatsu series is a fanfic parody anyways, so timeline placement doesn't matter (since it's a semi parody inspired by Gintama, the timeline is definitely confusing like the timeline placement in Gintama anime where they don't specify the year it took place, assumption is up to viewers' interpretation)
  • Part 1 and part 2 are mainly set on Edo, while the ongoing war took place far away from civilizations. Moreover, early half of part 2 was a flashback and was set when Tadayoshi was a bit younger. Later half of part 2 was set in the same timeline as part 1 and continuing from the cliffhanger. At that point, Tadayoshi already settled things with Maya, and in part 2's last half before Maya got kidnapped by the Shadow Clan, Maya says that she's 5 weeks pregnant
