Synopsis

Taking place in a New Era, Liu Kang (former champion of Mortal Kombat now Fire god) takes the role of Keeper of Time, creating a new timeline. Years past and Liu Kang seeks out champions somewhere in Fengjian, China & America. Meanwhile, Shang Tsung (now a con-artist) gets caught by former customers in his fake magics, until he meets a mysterious woman who offers him a way out of the cruel life he's in.

Description of Johnny Cage (Jonathan Carlton):

Johnny Cage is a washed up action star who's ego caused him to destroy his marriage with his wife Cristina. Seeing the downfall gave Kenshi the opportunity to reclaim Sento back from the action star. When Liu Kang shows up to recruit both him and Kenshi, he thought it was some prank his wife is pulling on him. But a fight between him and Sub-Zero & Liu Kang's powers woke him up to reality. After a divorce set, Johnny gets trained in the Wu Shi Academy for the Mortal Kombat tournament selection.
