Synopsis

The evil sorcerer Shang Tsung is making an attempt to open a portal between Earthrealm and the Outworld to exact his revenge against his former brothers from the Shaolin Order of Light. It has been the quest of his lifetime, and with the help from the Ninja Clan of Lin Kuei Assassins he is a step closer to achieving his goal. The Lord Protector of Earthrealm, Raiden and Earth's Champions are the only one's standing in his way.

Description of Scorpion (Master Hanzo Hasashi):

Master Hasashi was the head of the Shirai Ryu Clan. In the first scene of the movie we learn of the death of his wife Harumi and child son Satoshi. Along with his family, all his clan has been slaughtered by the Lin Kuei Clan of Assasins, Sub-Zero among them. After his own death, Hanzo Hasashi's soul descends into the Netherrealm and reincarnates into a Hell-Spawned Spirit whose only purpose on Earthrealm is revenge.
