Fan Casting Jack Kirby's New Gods

10-part animated series following Orion. For centuries, there has been peace between the twin planets New Genesis and Apokolips. The agreement was for the leaders of each planet to swap their youngest sons, and as long as the sons remained on the opposite planets, there would be peace. When Highfather's biological son flees Apokolips, Darkseid declares war on New Genesis yet again. The Source prophecies that the war between the two planets will only cease when the heir of Darkseid kills the tyrant and takes his place as ruler of Apokolips. Metron and Highfather believe this to be Orion, but Darkseid's other son Kalibak believes that he is the rightful heir to the throne of Apokolips. Meanwhile, a race of Bug People on New Genesis are waging a civil war when their leader, Prime One, is killed by Mantis. Orion, as well as most of the New Gods of New Genesis, distastes the Bugs, but makes friends with Forager. Orion, Lightray, Forager and the Bugs prepare for war against Kalibak and the forces of Apokolips. Orion defeats Kalibak but refuses to kill him, believing the war between the two planets to be one that neither side will win. Darkseid kills Kalibak himself, ensuring that his son will never dethrone him. Orion flees to Earth using a boom tube to find Highfather's son to bring him back to Apokolips, hoping it will reinstate peace between the twin planets.
