Story Plot

After her mother's "accident", Jess moved to a small Massachusetts beach town with her extended family. Things were getting better for her: she had close friends, good grades, and was finally healing enough to talk to her mom again. But everything was worse in a way as well. Things moving and breaking with no explanation, strange figures following her every move, and Corey loathing her every moment of her existence. Jess has powers, powers strong enough to take out entire worlds and re-write reality. In the right hands, that power could change the world. But it turns out human hands aren't the right ones.

    A revised version of one of my original stories, originally called "too late, too close". My biggest inspiration for this is Coraline, and most of the theories people have come up with for it. "The Mother" Was once a wealthy woman who found some sort of magic where she was living, and it turned her into some kind of magic vampire who cant live without feeding off the town. Jess is one of her distant relatives, and since moving to Revere and being near the mother, her powers are unleashed. She has to choose between becoming the same kind of monster Claudia is, or destroying the magic, along with herself. In a way the ending is inspired by caos and devilman crybaby, Jess has no choice but to destroy herself to save her brother and her friends, because claudia is so consumed by magic no one else can stop her.

    the magic is at first manifested as controlling soundwaves, but once Jess gets control of them she can manipulate all types of energy and rewrite reality. But the stronger the magic gets, the less in control the holder is.
