  • It's not racist if some fans want casting decisions to stick to the original script. If someone decided to cast Tiana as a white actress, there would undoubtedly be retaliation as well. Double standards.
  • @user_32107 I honestly think that the solution to a lack of POC representation in media isn't to race-bend existing roles; instead, Hollywood and Disney should create new roles that positively portray and empower POC. Race-bending existing, familiar characters will only serve to foster resentment and stubbornness in the minds of the very populations we are trying to change. Also, as a POC myself and seeing how Disney botched the Mulan remake, I would rather have positive representation come from a better source without a history of exploitation.
  • @carachen this is racist darling
  • @carachen i agree with your reply but not the original comment. making a white character poc will never, ever be comparable to whitewashing a character.

  • I think Ariel should be played by an actress with red hair.
  • @billyswifty She can still have red hair...
  • @billyswifty too bad she’s been casted , ur white little mermaid is on Netflix go watch that
  • @jheirart Black people can have red hair too, and boy, that comment aged badly, since Disney's moving all their stuff to D+.

  • should be little mermaid from wakanda haha
  • @toohotlady drink bleach stupid
  • Can you ohm atleast change the cast into a redhair girl and white skin thank you
  • @queenglamour Can you try not being racist? Thank you.
  • @tree5002 its not racism - ariel's character in the animation was DESIGNED to be white skinned. thats why we're looking for someone with white skin, it has nothing to do with racism - i wouldn't want a white girl to play as Tiana for example, because Tiana was designed with black skin! Thats all!
  • @wefoundwonderland The SJW cult would flip their lid if they have a live action remake of P&TF with a white Tiana, even though the original book has her as a white woman.

  • I'd be more interested to know why people are casting AND upvoting 30+ year olds to play a 16 year old
  • @smeehee9916 yeah, people are...stupid sometimes
  • Ok y'all are so concerned about black pleople representation in Hollywood. But what about redhead representation?
  • @lostbutnotleast Halle can dye her hair
  • @lostbutnotleast redheads aren't oppressed
  • @lostbutnotleast Love how y'all like to conveniently forget how black people can have natural red hair. Also, redheads are fine. Not oppressed. And they still have Merida and Anna. And you also know this. You just want to justify your own anti-black bs.

  • This hilarious , can tell people are still sore she’s black
  • @jheirart I'm not white but I think Arie SHOULD BE WHITE
  • @jchrist98 Touch grass. It's a f-ing mermaid. A MERMAID. A mythical creature. A person with a fish tail who swims in the damn ocean. Her skin color is not a factor in the story. Get over yourself.

  • @wefoundwonderland ok, yes but nothing about Ariel's character in the OG says her character has to be white. Because Tiana was written to be a powerful hardworking black woman, thats why we dont want her to be played by a white actress
  • @wefoundwonderland To scream bloody murder as much as y'all have been, while ignoring the countless documented cases of whitewashing - including recent cases - that SI racism. And Tiana being black impacts the story. Ariel being white doesn't. But you know this. You're just trying to cover up your racism. It's not working.
  • Can everyone stop fighting over this please?!! I think Disney has already confirmed that Ariel will be black!
  • @aquaman2021 This comment section is like nigh dead lol
  • @aquaman2021 I think the filming of the movie is done. They just kept it secret and undercover, because if they didn't, people would probably protest outside the filming locations.
  • @lostbutnotleast OMG! Who litterally needs more white people on tv?!! PLEASE YOU GUYS! Show some respect to black people, ok? And p.s. I am white.
