Retired animator Henry Stein, who is lured back to his old workplace, Joey Drew Studios, by a mysterious letter from his old friend, Joey Drew. He discovers the studio is a nightmare of living ink creatures, a result of the titular Ink Machine, which Joey Drew created to bring his cartoon characters to life. While trying to escape the studio, Henry must navigate its ink-filled halls, solve puzzles, and survive encounters with monstrous, ink-corrupted versions of the studio's beloved characters like Bendy, Boris, and Alice Angel.
