Archdeacon Claude Frollo finds a child at the cathedral door one day. Everyone but him feels disgusted with this child. Frollo adopts the deformed boy. He names him Quasimodo and teaches him to speak, read, and write. His younger brother Jehan and a friendly nun Élodie help him. The people of Paris, convinced that little Quasimodo is the devil, decide to kidnap him and burn him at the stake. His foster father will do everything to prevent this from happening.

Hunchback of Notre Dame-1962

An adaptation of Victor Hugo's novel. Three men fall in love with Esmeralda: Quasimodo-a deformed bellhop living in Notre Dame Cathedral,Claude Frollo-Archidiacon and Quasimodo's tutor, and Pierre Gringoire-a poor poet who is the same age as her. She, however, falls madly in love with Phoebus-Captain of the Royal Archers, who unfortunately warns her to be just another easy girl for one night. Frollo swears that if he cannot have her for himself, no one can, for she will die on the gallows. Both Quasimodo and Gringoire will not allow this to happen.
