The Bender family are an immigrant family of grifters with a taste for blood, killing all those who come into their inn. When looking for his former neighbor and his infant Daughter who went missing on a journey to Iowa and became a victim of the benders, Dr William Henry York also goes missing in a similar area, also on account of the Benders. Though rumors say it was the fault of Native Americans, Dr William Henry York's brothers Ed and Alexander search out to solve the mystery for themselves. The pair of brothers question everyone in the area, including an older German Immigrant named Elvira Bender who claimed she knew nothing of the missing persons, though acts out when the brothers bring up a report against the Benders' family inn and her treatment there. The investigation stopped due to inclimate weather, the investigation was paused. When the investigation continued, the Bender Family was gone, the only thing left was the evidence of their crimes. Nobody could find the Benders and they likely went on the murder more
