Perfect 1990s live action cartoon fancasting
While we've had many great castings of live action across playing cartoon characters like Robin Williams as Popeye, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, Hillary Duff as Wendy, Dan Akroyd as Yogi Bear or John Goodman as Fred Flintstone. However, there are other live action castings that either never happened or should've happened that could've led to better and more faithful adaptations based on these castings.

Super Mario Bros. (1993)
In Brooklyn, veteran plumbers, Mario and his younger brother, Luigi, are struggling to keep their business afloat against the corrupt contractor, Scapelli. Their lives are upended when Penny Rose, a brilliant construction engineer who has spent her life unaware of her royal heritage, is abducted by "Snift" agents through a dimension traveling pipe at the bridge dig site. The brothers are sucked in to rescue her, emerging in the Mushroom Kingdom, a dark surreal fantasy world ruled by King Koopa. Along the way, they're helped by Toad, and later free Yoshi for the brains and steed of the gang. Meanwhile, Penny leans her origins as Princess Toadstool and is forced to be married to Koopa in order for him to be full ruler with her golden star pendant. With a friendly Goomba and Luigi's neighborhood crush, Daisy, as her cellmates. The Mario Bros must stop Koopa and save Princess Toadstool and the Mushroom Kingdom.

Public Domain Superman (2034)
In 2024, it was revealed that Batman and Superman will enter the public domain in 2034 and 2035. Meaning anybody and anyone could use the characters without copyright. However, there's some restrictions of this. You're only allowed to use Golden Age Batman and Superman from their first appearances, characters like Lois Lane, Commissioner Gordon, and Julie Madison are allowed but nobody else in the franchise are allowed. You could use Superman's origins, but you can't call it "Krypton," or use the Kents' first names, Superman can't fly and can't be weakened by Kryptonite since those came later. And you can't market your projects with "Batman" or "Superman" in the title to avoid confusion from consumers to think it's official DC projects. So you gotta be original and creative with these stories and be careful. And I figured I should be prepared with fun fancastings for Superman and Lois Lane with young actors who will grow to be in their 30s 9 head later.

Spider-Man (Fancasts by fans from 2000)
I was digging up old articles from Ain't it Cool News for the first Spider-Man movie back in January 2000, when Sam Raimi was announced as director, everyone in the comments was making up their fancasts already. It seems like fans wanted Doc Ock as the first film's villain with Gwen Stacy as the love interest, then Green Goblin in the sequel where Gwen dies and MJ being introduced.

Alex Proyas's Batman Forever (1995)
(Note, I didn't include Robin Williams since he turned down the role of The Riddler after WB screwed him over when he was used as bait to lure Nicholson as The Joker.)

The Sinister Six (2016)
Back in 2013/2014, Sony was developing a cinematic universe from their Amazing Spider-Man films, and following TASM2, The Sinister Six was the follow up. Inspired by The Reservoir Dogs, and Dirty Dozen, Spider-Man was supposed to appear as the 6th member of the S6. And we also would’ve seen Doc Ock as a tragic leader of the team who lost his wife and slowly betrayed his relationship with his colleague, Peter Parker. It was considered to be a two-parter film and would've featured The Savage Land, complete with dinosaurs (with one scene having Spider-Man riding on a T-Rex), Gog, and time travel portals. Apparently, the climax would've also featured Sandman storming through London, destroying skyscrapers like Godzilla. (Please note that the following cast were actual considered choices. I didn't include Bryan Cranston and Frances McDormand because they're roles are unknown.)

Fantastic Four (2005) - Alternate Cast
This is an alternative casting for the 2005 movie we ended up with.

F4: Fantastic Four Trilogy (1996-2000)
Utilizing elements from earlier scripts from the 90s, as well as adding additional characters for a potential trilogy, expanding from 1999 or 2000. Showing the four's growth as a super family

Peyton Reed’s Fantastic Four (2004)
Set in the 60s, the Fantastic Four are seen as heroic celebrities in New York City. We're shown through flashback that the four and Latveria's physicist, Victor Von Doom, travel to space to harness a cosmic ray called "Particle Wave" which would replace Fossil nuclear and solar fueled energies. Reed and Victor fight over the close exposure to the rays until Victor is thrown into an escape pod while they're all exposed by the Particle Wave before landing back on Earth. Victor goes to the public to accuse Reed that he exposed the team with the radiation where Sue, Johnny and Ben stick up for Reed and soon have to overcome their differences to stop Victor. The climax is set in the streets of NYC where Victor is defeated and killed.

Kevin Smith's Superman Lives (1998)
Brainiac blocks out the sun in order to negate Superman's powers, and while he's growing weaker, Brainiac teams out up with Lex Luthor to create Doomsday, who eventually kills Superman. However, Superman's remains are recovered by The Eradicator who brings The Man of Steel back to life but without his powers with a black suit. They believe Brainiac will destroy Earth like he did to Krypton and they have to stop him. The Eradicator then replicates Superman's powers, synthetically. Long enough for Superman to fight Brainiac and Luthor until his powers eventually return naturally after being re-exposed to sunlight. The climax has the Superman and Brainiac fight in the skull as Brainiac downloaded himself into the body of a giant spider-like creature called "Thanagarian Snare Beast."

Ghostbusters III: Hellbent (2000)
Following the passing of Peter Venkman in 1998, Ray, Egon, and a now Dr. Winston, become mentors for a new generation of Ghostbusters including a tough New Jersey punk name, Franky, a rapper named Lovell, an uptight gymnast science student named Moira, Latina grad-student Carla, along with the help of a 10-year old scientist, Nathaniel. They're tasked to stop a gateway of Hell from literally evicting people back into the world of the living in order to alleviate their congestion problems. They discover Hell actually exists as a parallel universe of New York City called "ManHellton," existing side-by-side with our own, but slightly out of phase with what we see. And given the right technology, you can flip a switch and not only see it, but enter it. ManHellton is where all the worst things of modern urban life are manifested; traffic is stuck in endless gridlock with drivers swearing in different foreign languages, all the cops are blue minotaurs, Central Park would be a huge peat mine with green demons, and surrounded by black onyx thousand-foot high skyscrapers. The ruler of ManHellton is Mr. Lou Siffer, (described as a Donald Trump-type.) Peter Venkman would make a cameo at the end as one of the forms of God to communicate with the Ghostbusters.

The Wizard of Oz (1999)

They are sent to kill the Wicked Witch of the West, Oz's last remaining enemy. But the Great Oz is a sham, and though these four unusual heroes have risked their lives carrying out his request, he is powerless to keep his promises.

Alternate Spider-Man Franchise (2000s)
The complete Spider-Man trilogy recasted with considered actors of the final film. And famous fancasting to add in the banter, and the addition of other villains not featured in the original trilogy.
