The Heir Chronicles

This series begins with the story of teenage Jackson Swift, who finds he is a warrior, and is then forced to participate in a bloody tradition of a tournament against Ellen Stephenson. His aunt Linda Downey, an enchanter and Then, the story turns towards troublemaker Joseph Macaulay, who is sent to a school in Maine, where he learns he is a wizard, and meets fellow teenager Jason Haley, who helps him escape. The four collide in the Dragon Heir, as the battle begins.

Seven Realms

The Seven Realms Series is set in a traditional fantasy world of swordplay, castles and keeps Han Alister, a thief-turned-wizard, joins forces with Princess Raisa to defend her right to the Gray Wolf Throne. The action takes place in and around The Seven Realms, which are seven loosely related areas that were once ruled by the Gray Wolf Queens and their wizard consorts, or kings.
