Bajazet
In the midst of war in Constantinople against the Persians, Bajazet (Sultan Amurat's brother who is fighting in the war) is facing an ultimatum ; his brother has given orders to execute him (as Acomat tried to put him on the throne). In order to save his life, Roxane, the ruling Sultane in love with Bajazet, proposes to marry him. Pretending to return her affections, Bajazet loves an Ottoman Princess, Atalide and tries to stay alive without forsaking his love for Atalide.

The Misanthrope
Alceste, upset over the fast and hypocrisy of the French Court, tries to reconcile his natural misanthropy and selfish nature with his passionate love for the young and frivolous Célimène, who yearns to enjoy her freedom and independance, all the while assuring Alceste of her love and devotion for him.

Uncle Vanya
The play portrays the visit of an elderly professor and his glamorous, much younger second wife, Elena, to the rural estate that supports their urban lifestyle. Two friends—Vanya, brother of the professor's late first wife, who has long managed the estate, and Astrov, the local doctor—both fall under Elena's spell, while bemoaning the ennui of their provincial existence. Sonya, the professor's daughter by his first wife, who has worked with Vanya to keep the estate going, suffers from her unrequited feelings for Dr. Astrov.
