Wyrd Sisters
In Wyrd Sisters, the enchanting world of Discworld is turned upside down by three meddling witches: Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat Garlick. Their interference in royal politics causes kingdoms to wobble, crowns to topple, knives to flash and citizens to shudder in fear. Terry Pratchett's vividly imaginative story takes you on a journey with hunchbacked monarchs, lost crowns, disguised heirs, refuelling broomsticks and frightening thunderstorms, as the three sisters battle the odds to restore the rightful king to the throne.

Sourcery
When last seen the singularly inept wizard Rincewind had fallen off the edge of the world. Now, magically, he’s turned up again, and this time he’s brought the Luggage. But that’s not all...Once upon a time, there was an eighth son of an eighth son who was, of course, a wizard. As if that wasn’t complicated enough, said wizard then had seven sons. And then he had an eighth son-a wizard squared (that s all the math, really). Who, of course, was a source of magic - a sourcerer.

Mort
Death comes to us all. When he came to Mort, he offered him a job. Death is the Grim Reaper of the Discworld, a black-robed skeleton carrying a scythe who must collect a minimum number of souls in order to keep the momentum of dying, well... alive. He is also fond of cats and endlessly baffled by humanity. Soon Death is yearning to experience what humanity really has to offer... but to do that, he'll need to hire some help. It's an offer Mort can't refuse. As Death's apprentice he'll have free board, use of the company horse - and being dead isn't compulsory. It's a dream job - until Mort falls in love with Death's daughter, Ysabell, and discovers that your boss can be a killer on your love life...

Equal Rites
The last thing the wizard Drum Billet did, before Death laid a bony hand on his shoulder, was to pass on his staff of power to the eighth son of an eighth son. Unfortunately for his colleagues in the chauvinistic (not to say misogynistic) world of magic, he failed to check on the new-born baby's sex...

The Light Fantastic
In The Light Fantastic only one individual can save the world from a disastrous collision. Unfortunately, the hero happens to be the singularly inept wizard Rincewind, who was last seen falling off the edge of the world...

The Colour of Magic
Somewhere on the frontier between thought and reality exists the Discworld, a parallel time and place which might sound and smell like our own, but which looks completely different. Particularly as it’s carried through space on the back of a giant turtle (sex unknown). If you’re new to the Discworld don’t worry, you’re not alone . . . Twoflower is the Discworld’s first tourist, he’s exceptionally naive and about to get himself into an array of dangerous and fantastical situations on his travels. And if that didn’t sound fateful enough, it’s the spectacularly inept wizard, Rincewind who is charged with safely chaperoning Twoflower and his Luggage (a walking suitcase that has half a mind of its own and a homicidal attitude to anything threatening) during his visit. Safe to say chaos ensues…

He manages to find willing musicians but finding inspiration and motivation is difficult...until he agrees to let his high school best friend David stay with him after getting out of rehab, and accidentally finds reams of poetry he's written about his experiences growing up in an abusive home, experiencing heartache of losing the love of his life, and turning to drugs. David, who turns out to also be a great singer, eventually agrees to join the band and let them use his poems for song lyrics, but the constant re-living of his worst moments, coupled with the rockstar lifestyle, may well lead him back down the dark road he traveled previously, unless Kyle can be the friend he needs as well as just a bandmate.

St. Elsewhere

And that’s to say nothing of the patients, who are often...interesting, to say the least.
