Several new characters are also introduced in the fourth season, including journalist Althea Szewczyk-Przygocki (Maggie Grace), police officer John Dorie (Garret Dillahunt), and nurse June (Jenna Elfman).

At the onset of the zombie apocalypse, their group includes Victor Strand (Colman Domingo), a smart and sophisticated conman-turned-businessman, Daniel Salazar (Rubén Blades) and his daughter Ofelia (Mercedes Mason). Meanwhile the two individuals cross paths and try to survive. While the other individuals cross paths and group together. Each group navigates through Los Angeles in search of a safe haven.
