Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) Live Action
June 21, 1996. Rated PG (Theatrical Cut). Rated PG-13 (Director's Cut). Theatrical Cut is pretty much the same as the animated film. The Director's Cut is much darker and more adult. The Gargoyles while being the comic relief, their humor is toned down and confirmed to be imaginary. Brutish Guard and Oafish Guard are portrayed in a serious manner. The song A Guy Like You is not over the top and flashy. Judge Claude Frollo is even more brutal and violent. The death of Quasimodo's mom is more graphic. Judge Claude Frollo is killed by Esmeralda in the end and the alternate ending (Esmeralda kicks Judge Frollo off the cathedral). Quasimodo is killed by Judge Frollo in the alternate ending. Judge Claude Frollo's death is more graphic. The film actually shows you slaughter gypsies in Parisians during the manhunt for Esmeralda.

Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame (2005 Live Action Remake)
June 24, 2005. Rated PG-13. The film is mostly based on the 1996 Disney animated film, scrapped ideas from the 1996 Disney animated film, the 1999-2002 Berlin Disney stage play by James Lapine and elements from the Victor Hugo novel. The film is rated PG-13 and is much darker in tone. The death of Quasimodo's mother is far more graphic. Claude Frollo's backstory of being a priest before he became a judge and has a younger brother named Jehan. The Gargoyles humor is not over the top and are confirmed to be in Quasimodo's imagination. Brutish Guard and Oafish Guard are portrayed as serious and threatening. New songs, a happy ending and a sad ending. The happy and sad endings are based on ending that were scrapped from the 1996 Disney animated film. In both endings Esmeralda kills Judge Claude Frollo, in order to save Quasimodo. In the happy ending, in a fit of rage Quasimodo brutally beats up Frollo after discovering that he lied to him about his mother and Esmeralda kills Judge Frollo and sucessfully saves Quasimodo when she kicks him off the cathedral. In the sad ending, Frollo successfully stabs Quasimodo with his dagger, Esmeralda wakes up gets into a struggle with Frollo, Esmeralda pushes Frollo outside of the cathedral to the ground. In a fit of rage Esmeralda kills Judge Claude Frollo, when she breaks his arm and kicks off the cathedral. Esmeralda attempts to heal Quasimodo and dies his arms and a funeral is held for Quasimodo as he becomes a martyr.

This will tie into my rewrite of the prequel trilogy (1999 - 2005). Set in between Fall of The Jedi and A New Hope. The menacing Sith Lord Darth Vader trains his secret apprentice in the ways of the dark side of the force after discovering him as a child on the Wookiee planet of Kashyyyk. Later Starkiller redeems himself as a Jedi to his master, Rahm Kota and the founding members of the Rebel Alliance.

Released October 18, 2005. Rated PG-13 Set place six years later after Fall of The Jedi (My rewrite of Episode III/Prequel Trilogy) and thirteen years before A New Hope. Padme dies in this film when Leia is six years old as described in Return of The Jedi. This will tie into my rewrite of the prequel trilogy (1999 - 2005), my rewrite of the sequel trilogy (2013 - 2016) and of course the original trilogy (1978 - 1984).
