Green Lantern (2008)

Green Lantern is a 2011 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Hal Jordan / Green Lantern. It was directed by Joseph Kosinski, from a screenplay by Greg Berlanti, Michael Green, Marc Guggenheim, and Michael Goldenberg. Ryan Reynolds stars as the titular character, a test pilot who is selected to become the first human member of the Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic police force. He is given a ring that grants him superpowers and must confront Hector Hammond, a being who threatens to upset the balance of power in the universe. The film also stars Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong and Tim Robbins.

Hulk (2008)

Hulk is a 2008 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The film was directed by Ang Lee and written by John Turman, James Schamus, and Michael France and is the second film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Mark Ruffalo stars as Bruce Banner and Hulk, alongside Liv Tyler, William Hurt, Josh Lucas and Ron Perlman. The film explores Bruce Banner's origins. After a lab accident involving gamma radiation, he transforms into a giant green-skinned humanoid with superhuman strength known as the Hulk whenever stressed or emotionally provoked. The United States military pursues him, and he clashes with his biological father.

Superman: Man of Steel is a 2008 superhero film based on the DC Comics character Superman. Directed by Joe Johnston and written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who developed the story with producer Christopher Nolan, it is the second film in the DC Cinematic Universe (DCCU), and a reboot of the Superman film series, depicting the character's origin story. Brandon Routh stars as Superman, alongside Erica Durance, Aaron Ashmore, John Schneider, Annette O'Toole, Michael Ironside, Michael Shannon, Laurence Fishbourne and Russell Crowe. In the film, Clark Kent learns that he is a superpowered alien from the planet Krypton and assumes the role of mankind's protector as Superman, making the choice to face General Zod and stop him from destroying humanity.

Iron Man is a 2008 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Iron Man. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Paramount Pictures, it is the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Directed by Jon Favreau and written by the teams of Mark Fergus & Hawk Ostby and Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, the film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man alongside Don Cheadle, Jeff Bridges, Gwyneth Paltrow, Leslie Bibb, and Shaun Toub. In the film, world-famous industrialist and master engineer Stark builds a mechanized suit of armor to escape from captivity by a terrorist group, and then uses the suit to become the superhero Iron Man.

The Batman (2008)

The Batman is a 2008 superhero film based on the DC Comics character Batman. Directed by Guillremo Del Toro, who co-wrote the screenplay with Travis Beachman, the film stars Ben Affleck as the title character with Jeremy Irons, Ben McKenzie, Morgan Freeman, Heath Ledger, Anne Hathaway and Aaron Eckhart in supporting roles.
