JJ Abrams's Superman Fly By (2004)
The legendary director JJ Abrams embarked on an ambitious project to revive the Superman franchise. I wanted the story to focus on Superman as a hero with a split identity, struggling to balance his shield as a super hero and as a mere mortal. The film, titled "Superman Fly By", saw Brendan Fraser playing the role of Superman. The plot of the story focused on creating a utopian world in which Superman could live and fight for good without resistance. The movie also featured a number of interesting villains like Lex Luthor, Brainiac, and Darkseid, all trying to destroy Superman's dream world. In addition, it featured several emotional scenes of Superman's fight against injustice in the real world. Overall hailed as a critical and commercial success, "Superman Fly By" marked the first time a Superman story had been so successfully adapted for film. It was a refreshing change from the classic Superman image, with his interpreter, Brendan Fraser, serving as a perfect representation of the character.
