Batman Beyond

Sequel of Batman Returns concluding Michael Keaton's story and the beginning of a new Batman. The story is partly inspired by the episode "Artifacts" of the 2004 animated series "The Batman". Batman confronts Mr. Freeze, but has difficulty fighting him due to his advanced age. Freeze is ultimately defeated, but decides to cryogenically freeze himself so that when he wakes up, he finds himself in a world without Batman. The years pass, Bruce has retired, but Gotham City is still riddled with crime. This is where Terry McGinnis appears, destined to become the new Batman.
