Pirates of the Caribbean: To Farther Shores
The Golden Age of Piracy is over, and the world has no room for pirates. Now 60 years old, Jack Sparrow decides it's time to leave the Caribbean and retire. With his father Capt. Teague and old friend Mr. Gibbs, he sails for the fabled pirate utopia of Libertalia, a place where pirates can live out their days in splendour. In the Atlantic, they are captured by Atlanteans and taken to the lost city of Atlantis, controlled by rebels led by Kromos, who usurped the king's throne. As Kromos is about to kill them and reclaim the Sword of Triton from Jack, they are rescued by exiled princess Kida and her loyalists, who want to use the Sword to retake Atlantis. Having no interest in joining the civil war and just wanting to reach Libertalia, Jack gives Kida the Sword and prepares to leave, but Kromos attacks, burns down the Black Pearl and murders Teague. Seeking revenge, Jack helps Kida take back Atlantis. Kromos reveals the king is still alive, so Kida goes to free her father. Jack duels Kromos, who eventually disarms and stabs Jack, but Gibbs sacrifices himself to save Jack's life. Jack outsmarts Kromos and kills him, avenging the Pearl, Teague, and Gibbs. Afterwards, Jack buries Teague and Gibbs in the wreckage of the Black Pearl. Kida offers him sanctuary in Atlantis, but Jack leaves. Finally arriving in Madagascar, Jack finds nothing. Libertalia was a myth. Jack succumbs to his wounds and collapses on the shore. He wakes up, finding himself back in Atlantis. In the final shot of the film, Jack raises a bottle of rum, saying "Drink up me hearties yo ho," and decides to spend his last days there.
