The story takes place in a universe where the characters of both the DC Universe and Invincible coexist with one another.Superman and Omni-Man are both seen as Earth’s greatest protectors even occasionally teaming up with each other against planetary threats on Earth and both of them serving as Invincible’s (the son of Omni-Man) mentors, but then Superman is informed by Batman that Omni-Man is in fact the killer of the Guardians Of The Globe, certain members of the Justice League and later finds out that he has taken out several other-worldly civilizations for the Viltrum Empire for years.Disappointed by his actions Superman must stop this hostile takeover from coming to fruition and at the same time saving Invincible from his father almost killing him and the rest of Earth’s civilization.
