Biography

Born to Egyptian parents, Rosaline grew up in Egypt and has also lived in the United Kingdom and the United States. Before her Acting MFA from LAMDA, she had a BA in Classics & Archaeology from Oxford University and an MSc in Colonialism & Globalisation from the LSE. She is best known for Netflix series Kaleidoscope and A24's Ramy for Hulu, as well as MBC's Qabeel and the feature film Diamond Dust. Rosaline Elbaywas born and raised in Cairo to Egyptian parents. She read Classics at Oxford University and completed a master's in Colonial History. She then studied at the Actors Studio New York City with Elizabeth Kemp and obtained her MFA in Acting from LAMDA. Her career began in UK theater with a focus on Shakespeare. She is known for her roles as 'Amani' on Hulu/A24 Films series Ramy and as 'Sara' on MBC Masr series Qabeel. In September 2021, she was announced as a principal cast member of the upcoming Netflix series Jigsaw
