The youngest daughter of actorsΒ Tony CurtisΒ andΒ Janet Leigh, Curtis made her screen debut in a 1977 episode of the television dramaΒ Quincy, M.E.. Her feature film debut came with the role ofΒ Laurie StrodeΒ inΒ John Carpenter's horrorΒ Halloween (1978); the role proved to be Curtis' breakthrough and established her as a prominentΒ scream queen.
