As the last survivor from the distant world of Kryptonia, Kala-Zor El is adopted by retired soldier Sam Lane and his wife, Ella and gives her the name, Lois. Lois grows up with her adopted sister, Jane, with him she gets her stubborn and go-getting attitude that allows her to excel. Her desire to do good was inspired by her father who instilled in her the life of service for her fellow man, even though she's not entirely human. So, she decides to use her super intellect for good by becoming a news reporter that exposes the truth and reveals the corruption of corporate america.
