A remake/retelling of of the first Pokémon movie
Two opening shorts called Raitoningu no Tabidachi (ライトニング旅立ち), or "Lightning's Journey." and The Untold Story of Mewtwo (ミュウツーの誕生 The Birth of Mewtwo) are appear in the intro. After a scientific experiment leads to the creation of a clone of Mewtwo, he sets out to destroy the world. Lightning and his royal family and his friends then decide to thwart Mewtwo's evil plans.
