In the film Hank McCoy (Beast) has been in contact with a fellow scientist named Dr. Paul Cartier who lives in Alaska and has been suffering from a beatial mutation similar to his own. Hank has provided Cartier with the same drug his uses to keep his own mutation in check to help Cartier control his mutations.
