One year after the events of Firebrand, mutants remain on the fringes, feared and misunderstood. Though the Vault threat has passed, its lingering echoes ripple throughout the world. Apocalypse—En Sabah Nur—has awakened in Detroit, quietly beginning his campaign to reshape the world. With a vision of forcing evolution rather than destroying humanity, Apocalypse seeks to upgrade the human race, bending it to his will. Rogue leads a team of X-Men, including Polaris, Magik, Nightcrawler, Gentle, Elixir, and X-23, as they confront new challenges.
