Story Plot

Apocalypse arrives, backed by Magneto & his Brotherhood, to place mutants at their perceived "rightful" place on top of the food chain. As chaos descends upon the world as we know it, the X-Men must find a way to hold back the darkness in their most perilous task yet.

    In the movie’s climax, the battle between the X-Men (with Trask & Bastion) and The Brotherhood (with Juggernaut & Daken) reaches a stalemate as Apocalypse watches from above. Charles begins to plead with Erik to put an end to this war before they’re too far gone and in that moment Apocalypse descends upon the battlefield and kills Charles; having recognized him to be the truest hindrance to mutant evolution. After a moment of shock, Erik & Scott recklessly attack Apocalypse only to be promptly overpowered. Apocalypse then decides to put Erik out of his misery as well only for Polaris to jump in the way and take the killing blow. With the opposition all but defeated, Apocalypse brings Krakoa from the sea to land. He then calls his “Horsemen” to his side and lays claim to this land as his own, imploring all mutants to either ascend or perish. In the Post Credits scene a portal opens in an alley way and Lucas Bishop stumbles through it; as he takes in his surroundings and sees the Xavier Institute in shambles he realizes that he might be too late.
