Devoted to promoting the dream of peaceful coexistence between mutants and humans, Xavier trained his X-Men in the use of their mutant powers at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, making them defenders of a world that hates and fears them. Over the years, the heroes of the mutant kind have found their mission constantly threatened by both reactionary humans and fanatical mutants. In the present day, the X-Men have rebranded as a superhero team that acts for the people of Krakoa.
